Every day my Grandfather would put outgrains for the birds and in summer season a bowl of water.And we would have scores of birds eating those grains everyday.By the end of the day the grain would be all gone.Our house and adjoining houses had couple of big trees and occasionally we would find a sparrow nest.It was a delight to watch these tiny birds perched on these trees and on our roof.
There is a belief in our area that when sparrows take a bath in the mud rains are about to arrive.
After coming to Bangalore I have hardly seen a sparrow or two.Hope this initiative revives the population of this adorable little bird.
