Seen frequently everyday. My mother feeds them rice grains and they appear frequently to eat these.
However, during my childhood, I remember seeing sparrows in huge numbers and at least 2-3 nests at any point of time in the house. The numbers have definitely reduced drastically and the nest have become less commom, though not completely rare.

There are a lot of pigeons in this area. We have had some nesting in our balcony. There are also quite a large number of parrots. But with a recent construction coming up close by, these have stopped appearing. Occasionally I see corws. Unfortunately, I cannot remember seeing any sparrows at all. (We live on the 13th floor).

We have a particular pair that come on to the kitchen window every day, several times a day. my mother is attached to them and feeds them rice grains. I got married recently and my mother had to learn to adjust to living alone, as my father passed away several years ago. Its endearing to see that she has developed an emotional bond with the sparrows and mentions them coming very often I am thankful for these sparrows that have brought small, but very appreciated cheer into her lonely life.
(I think the male sparrow often perches on the kitchen window at night - not sure if this has implications in terms of nesting behaviour).
