Sparrows regularly visit my home to eat up the fresh leaves of the plants that I grow in the windows. I possibly shoo them away as they disturb the plants' growth. However, I feed them with grains in the kitchen window. My mother keeps a small bowl of water for the sparrows and other birds during summers.
