Inspite of market and residential area a huge flock of sparrows were seen chirping around all the day along. It is use to be real fun in early morning and evening the whole area use to reverberate with chirping sound of sparrows.

NDA Road from Chandni Chowk Warje Pune Maharashtra
A quiet place leading to NDA. Either side of the road is with forest/private hotels or farms. This area is frequented by morning/evening walkers. Not much of trafic either.
Good birding spot, with good variety. Sparrows are seen but, few numbers

Bhusari Colony, around Bhimasen Joshi Udyan and New India School Bhusari Colony, Kothrud Pune Maharashtra
Fairly large residential area with abundant tree cover. Large species of resident birds are seen. Sparrows are seen at every lane, but not large quantity. Area is conducive for active nests, but not observed any.
Would like to recommend every housing complex to go for nest boxes.

Some times I see good number of sparrows chirping around at all times of the day. But all of a sudden, they vanish, to reappear after a day or two.
I have fixed two sparrow nest box in my terrace as well as in my car parking. It is four days since I have fixed these nest boxes, I have not noticed any activity of sparrows.
