We can see more than 8 types of birds in and around our colony. Sparrows often come and sit on our window sill and chirp happily. We can hear them chirping for the whole day. They come to drink water collected below our potted plants. I have clicked photos of a male and female house sparrow sitting together which I would like to share. But certainly over the last three years they have decreased in number and we see more of dayals, mynahs, bulbuls, parrots, etc. than before.
