About 20 years ago this place was full of sparrows. Sparrows used to build nests in our loft. an uncle used to keep a shoe box up there to help them get cosy. We watched the fledglings drop off the loft; hop about and slowly learn to fly. We miss the sparrows.
Now we have grown a pheltoforum tree in our compound and have put up a bird house to enourage whatever bird that seeks protection.
