We have been living in gwalior since 1975. We have trees in our compound. There are many nests of house sparrows, some of them even in our house. My mother has put a bowl for water and routinely fills it and puts some food for them. Other than house sparrows, i have seen other type of birds too. like sparrows, crows etc. years ago some peacocks too used to come on our terris as we gave them cereals like bajra. their home was just behind our home, as if they were neighbours. my mom used to wake me up early to see them eating. a light forest used to be there some time ago, but people cut trees down and peacocks were gone. only some birds are left now.
