In this area where I lived in our house compound there used to very big jack fruit tree. so many about hundreds of sparrows used to live there. I used to wake up early morning hearing this chirping. we used to see nests also. The area was far away from main road and vehicle noise. Now I don't know whether the tree is still there or it is cut since the area has developed multistore buildings and mobile towers.

When we were children we were staying in Ulsoor (now it is called Halasuru) our house used to be on first floor , used to face a large site with lot of of trees especially drum stick trees. During afternoon times when most of the place used to silent a flock of around 20 to 30 light colored and dark colored ones used to come sit on our veranda where my mother used to keep rice or wheat in the sunlight to dry. suvarnalatha - near the Himagiri hill AGs Layout Bangalore Karnataka

This place I am referring to is about 2 kms from my house. Earlier about 4- 5 years back we used to see them in front of my house in the morning every day and we used to keep some pulses or rice and some water in a coconut shell for them to drink. But we don't see them near my place may be due to 2 mobile towers and increase in the number of buildings around my house. But I get a chance to see them near the place where I go for my morning walk ie near AGS layout particularly near the Himagari temple some small bushes and shrubs are there on the way to this temple. I watch them for about half an hour every day and cherish these . since I don't have a good camera I am unable to take photos. right now the temple does not have frequent visitor and no building are there around this. But I am afraid once this is filled I am going to miss them.
