Arcadia, an independent 2- floor house, with a kitchen garden in rural setting Panthaghati Shimla Himachal Pradesh
I built the house,Arcadia, in 2001(plot size about 700 sq yards with a garden all around)over a spur, looking into fields in the valley in the south and a forest in the north. Ever since I & my wife have been living here. Daily, almost throughout the day, morning & evening in particular, we see many small birds in good number; they visit flowers, bushes and trees in our garden. Many small birds, particularly house sparrows, have made many a nest in our garden. House sparrows have multiplied from a few to almost in hundreds in our surroundings over the last decade or so and spread into the agricultural fields in the vicinity. We do feed the birds with bread and grains and also provide water in small containers.
