During my chidlhood days, My grandpa used to hang the paddy, and millets panicles in the roof of my home and also he made artificial nesting place for Sparrows. The sparrows game and made their nest in that place and enjoy the paddy and millet grains. One fine day, my self and my brother were playing in my home, suddenly 3 few days old sparrow sibblings fell down. We took the kiddies and tried to feed them with boiled rice. My grandpa adviced us not to give the boiled rice. Then with help of my granpa we left the birds in their nest. My granpa told that it was good to have sparrow nest in the home and we believed it will bring good things to home.
Years passed, slowly slowly sparrows disappeared from my home. Recent now, there was not a single nest of sparrow in the whole of my street which contains nearly about 50 houses.
The gap between human and sparrow is widening year by year. Atleast it is good to observe sparrows in reserved forest and agriculture fields.
Urbanization, cell phone towers, more usage of pesticide in agriculture fields, modernization of household and shrinkage of forest may be the reason for disappearing of sparrow in my street.
