sparrows are one of the beautiful gift of nature. These are usually small in size and are yellowish- brown in colour. They usually feed on nuts, seeds etc. Sparrows build their nest in cozy places like ceilings of any old house.
Sparrows, though it has notextinct but it is on its way to extinction. So, we human beingsas the most advanced animal created by nature should be able to save the sparrowsfrom being extinct. Or else like other extinct animals we will also have to loose this beautiful gift of nature.

I want to share a House Sparrow story from my childhood. In my childhood only I used to see a folk of house sparrows coming to our balcony and specially in winter season, they were around 20-30 in numbers and loved to eat vegetable seed(specially spinach seed). To avoid sparrows my father used paper in small parts tightened with ropes above the seeds. I remember how i and my brothers tried to catch the house sparrows with a large basket (karahi). What we used to do is to place a plate filled with rice and hide behind a window and whenever the sparrows came to eat the rice we would place the basket above it . But only once we were able to catch one and kept it for a day, then next day we released it.
That day..it was a really memorable day, we spent the whole day sitting beside the sparrow and taking care of it. we gave water , rice and other grains. But we were sad that we couldnt catch more sparrows because the whole day the sparrow was seeking for its friends. So we decided to leave it free.
Its just a memory though...i miss the folks of sparrows hopping around. Now a days we only see upto 5 sparrows. If it continues like that our next generation will miss this beautiful, charming, small bird and they will only see these sparrows in their books. So we all must try hard to save the house sparrow.

My mom use to feed sparrows whenever she sees any. Even my grand parents used to do the same.
