Rangbai Temple, PBR-Somnath Hgway Gujarat Gujarat
We visit this temple frequently,it is located on Porbandar-Somnath Coastal Highway, just 12Km from PBR, very close to sea beach, a tranquil place just suitable habitat for sparrows, sorrounded by Saru trees all around and quite far from hustle and bustle of town life, there we have always found sparows friendly with human beings, they have nested there for years. Here chirpings and nesting activities r most common.

I could observe few sparrows occasionally and around last World sparrow day 2011, brought one sparrow nest and sparrow feeder online and hung in my home balcony. After two months of installation I could observe sparrows starts coming slowly to the feeder and started nesting in the nest house. Now I had seen successful 4 nesting cycles, and already made another sparrow nest and that also being occupied by sparrows and now nesting cycle is going on.

Hi, During my childhood I used to see many sparrows in and around my locality, for instance ours is a single stare building even then we used to observe may nests in and around my house itself. You can imagine their number at that time. But now, it is very hard/ rare to see even 2 birds flying in the air. The sparrow population has been reduced steeply that in mere future people forgets, how does a sparrow looks like...
I feel extremely for those poor things who are declining rapidly...

I live in an old traditional Bungalow. We have a backyard and some space around the house. We used to encourage bird feeding and witnessed a large number of sparrows. but due to the nasty cats preying sparrows we discontinued now we've hung a bird feeder and we see around 5 sparrows a day.
But on the other hand there are a few gardens and ashoka trees in colonies and although we don't see them the evening and mornings are full of the happy chirping.
