the depletion of sparrows is alarming due to cemented boundary walls & depletion of hedges, people dont want them to make them nests in even their verandah due to irritation of chirping birds or droppings. I recently joined New Horizon College of Engineering and I've noticed these birds chirping and sitting on the window sill. One day I found a nest in one of the classrooms. I don't think I concentrated on what the teacher was telling that day! The sparrows keep bringing twigs into the room and decorate their nests.

I am Living in this area since 1990.At that time it was urban area but density was very less.You can say unused plots,free space & design of houses were also not so much modern.In period of 1990 to 1995 we used to feed sparrows & it was quite normal to see this bird in number of 5-30 but nest was very rare at that time also.At the same time period in villages (40 Kms from bathinda,Channu,District Mukutsar),density of sparrows was quite large( you can say more than 100 birds along with large number of nest.

When i waturing the plants in my garden these sparrow come and take a bath on the plants. I enjoy these activity of these birds along with same size black colured birds(i dont know there names)while i wature the plants every day in morning around 7-30 to 8 am. My daughter is 4 years old and she enjoys to see these sparrows which she reads about them in her school books.There are some occasion i see there nests in our garden in big trees.
