In the summer holidays or Christmas vacations. We everyday go to our near hill. There we see many sparrows. But not only Sparrows we also come to see White breasted kingfishers, Indian robins,Magpie robins and sometimes we go deep inside the hill there once we got to see the Indian peafowl.
But one thing has changed that the number of sparrows that we saw earlier have now reduced , I have still done sightings of the Sparrows in our place

Sparrows have always lived around my house during the last 15 years at sector 33 Noida. They built a permanent nest in one of the electric lighting cavity in the ceiling of the front courtyard and raised families year after year. Last year (2011) after Diwali they suddenly disappeard from the area and we all felt very uncomfortable because my wife first offers food to these birds before putting it on the lunch table for rest of us. Fortunately they returned in Jan 2012. We continuousy watch them eating food on the boundary wall from the window of the dining area while taking lunch. If they do not come then we all become restless. I installed one home made nest box near their old nest few days back and now they have accepted it and started building a new nest. These little birds bring so much joy to our life.
