This is a place where i have observed quite a few species of birds but not sparrows.
All please keep a bowl of water and some grains and small fruits for the birds which culd really be helpful for the poor things.

I am residing in this area more than 12 years. The population of house sparrow has declined. I put one sparrow box for house sparrow in my flat and from the last 2 years they are laying eggs and and the chicks gets their adulthood. But the birds are mountain sparrows not the house sparrow. This worries me most. I need some colour rings so that i can follow the birds in the later stages.

I love the nature.It's still in my memory,my childhood days,when a group of sparrows(around 20-25) used to came daily and lands to our courtyard.I used to tease them by throwing rice and wheat.But they used to fly in fear.But today I feel so sad that they flied forever.Some times I think what happens to these lovely bird.But I could not get any answer.R u ?

previously there are a large group of sparrows will be there 10years before but i didn't see them from the past 3 years but from the past 3 months i found some group of birds near to my home.

The area is open land with lots of trees on the side of the hill slopes to the rear, so plenty of sparrows and other birds take advantage of the natural surroundings. Unfortunately there are also too many pigeons in the area, which might eventually scare away the myriad of small birds locally.
