Dr. Mineswar Hazarika - SWADESH NAGAR, Khanapara between Meghalaya and Assam Swadesh Nagar Guwahati Assam 781022

House sparrows were seen a lot about 5-6 years back. Now due to construction of concrete buildings ,there is very limited place for their habitat. They prefer Assam type thatch houses for construction of nest. Because of loss of habitat, the numbers are fast reducing. Some people even kill them for meat purpose. We are now trying to provide artificial nest boxes made up of local waste materials. Also we want to create awareness among the people of Assam and Meghalaya. Therefore we need funds for our works.

May be becoz of Increased mobile towers, and direct satellite Television - the radiation has increased much. Also i stay in a building which is around 25 years age, hence i don't see no nesting space as the reason for sparrows decline.

Please tell me what are the foods that can be fed to sparrows and similar birds.
