Q11. Would you like to share a story about House Sparrows from this time period?I am writing this on behalf of my mother-in-law, Kiran Mishra. "We moved to this house in Ghaziabad just across the border from Delhi in 2000. Initially, I never noticed any sparrows in the area. There were very few houses in the area in those days and lots of open spaces, but I did not notice sparrows. After 2 years, they started coming as I put food out regularly every morning, we also had a big garden which attracted many other birds - magpie robin, sunbirds, tailor birds, wren-warbler and even a white-throated kingfisher. The area was meant to be residential, but slowly over the last 5-8 years it has become completely built up with 3-4 storey buildings, shops etc and there are almost no green spaces left, except for an open park behind our house and the only garden in the area is of my house. Over the last 2 years, a flock of 30-50 birds comes everyday to my backyard to feed on grain and left-over food and for water."
