At noon, when I feed my dogs in my garden, the trees overhead are full of sparrows, a few magpies and mynahs. The sparrows are busy chirping away. They fly down to drink water from the dog's water bowl beneath the tree, always wary of the dogs. After the dogs have eaten and a few grains of rice litter the garden tiles, they swoop down in a flutter and make a meal of the grains of rice till almost nothing is left.
It is almost as if they know lunch time and crowd the trees, just as the dogs are getting ready for their meals.
